PLK started as a corporate venture firm to Hyundai Motor Company in July 2000. Soon after the company's establishment, PLK quickly took the employees at Hyundai Motor Company by surprise with its excellence in product development and research capabilities. Taking PLK's continued excellence in the area of vehicle parts R&D into consideration, Hyundai Motor Company went on to declare PLK as an independent company with complete qualification in July 2003. Since then, PLK has been focusing on developing advanced electronic parts for automobiles.
